Drug Reform
Our organization has adopted the goal of decriminalizing marijuana. We wish to take this message to our community, our county, and our border region by providing education and forums for discussion. Our county is an especially conservative county. We believe that by opening up the discussion in our community, we can then take the message to neighboring communities to successfully begin the decriminalization of marijuana.
New Mexico is becoming a leader in recognizing the need for medical marijuana and protecting its approved patients for this policy. We believe that we can bring the voice of the conservative, rural communities to the state discussion by using existing events (county fair, health fairs, community events, and county health council) and creating alliances with existing organizations to provide education and a safe place to discuss this important issue.

About FAMM
Our Mission
Families Against Mandatory Minimums is the national voice for fair and proportionate sentencing laws. We shine a light on the human face of sentencing, advocate for state and federal sentencing reform, and mobilize thousands of individuals and families whose lives are adversely affected by unjust sentences.
Our Vision
FAMM’s vision is a nation in which sentencing is individualized, humane, and sufficient but not greater than necessary to impose just punishment, secure public safety, and support successful rehabilitation and reentry.
FAMM’s national membership includes prisoners and their families, attorneys, judges, criminal justice experts and concerned citizens.
